Almost everything we make is built to order, so if none of the listed sizes fit your wall, tell us the measurement you need and we will make it to that. The guidance below is what we tell customers who ask us what to choose.

Wall clocks

• 24–30 inches — bedroom, study, kitchen, or a wall under about 6 feet wide.
• 36–42 inches — the usual choice for a living room feature wall. This is the size most people should be buying and the size most people under-buy.
• 48–60 inches — double-height walls, staircases, reception areas and long empty walls.

A clock that looks large in a photograph almost always looks small once it is on the wall. If you are torn between two sizes, take the larger one.

Wall art and metal wall hangings

The reliable rule is two-thirds. A piece hung above furniture should be roughly two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath it.

• Above a 3-seater sofa (about 84 in / 213 cm) — aim for 55–60 inches of artwork, either one piece or a set hung as one group.
• Above a queen bed (60 in / 152 cm) — aim for 40–45 inches.
• Above a console table (about 40 in / 102 cm) — aim for 26–30 inches.

Hang so the centre of the piece sits at about 57–60 inches from the floor — roughly eye level. Above furniture, leave 6–10 inches between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the artwork; more than that and the two stop reading as a pair.

Mirrors

• Above a console or sideboard — aim for a mirror around two-thirds the width of the furniture, and leave 15–20 cm between the tabletop and the bottom of the mirror.
• Above a bathroom vanity — the mirror should be no wider than the vanity itself, and ideally a few inches narrower.
• Full length — a useful dressing mirror needs to be at least 48 inches tall; 60–70 inches lets you see a whole outfit.

A mirror hung opposite a window will do more to brighten a dark room than any lamp. A mirror facing a blank wall only reflects the blank wall.

Side tables and consoles

• Side table height should roughly match the arm of your sofa. Too low and it does not get used.
• Console depth matters more than length in a hallway. Leave at least 90 cm of clear floor so the front door still swings past.
• Coffee table — leave 40–45 cm between the table and the sofa, close enough to reach without leaning.

Measure the wall's width and height in feet, multiply for square footage, and compare against the coverage listed on the product page. Add about 10% for wastage and pattern matching. If you would rather not work it out, send us the wall measurements and we will tell you how many rolls you need.
